TONGASOA PROGRAMS
ANTSIRABE. In 2024, a preliminary ‘discovery’ team consisting of Tongasoa’s Executive Director, Mamisoa Rakotomalala, and a senior trainer-facilitator will explore different villages in the region of Antsirabe. The discovery team will meet with the head man or head woman of villages whose demographics suggest the greatest level of poverty yet which are stable economically. Also, existing organizations operating in the vicinity will be contacted to identify partnering opportunities and ancillary knowledge (e.g., FJKM).
An ideal village would be one that was impoverished but had economic life and a source of fresh water. The men and women would be motivated to change in a positive way, one that renews relationships and inspires life again. Later, communities may have deeper levels of poverty and less willing men, but the first effort by Tongasoa will be less challenging.
The immediate goal of Tongasoa will be to be successful with the men and women of the chosen community in the vicinity of Antsirabe. Additionally, Tongasoa will want to learn about its methods of support. Were the people heard and participating in the planning process? Were all included? Did all have a voice? Were goals achieved? Were the people happy? And, of course, at what programmatic cost?

Ambaniakondro is more impoverished than the ideal Antsirabe community will be and will cost less in necessary funds.
